Thank You for your Generosity & Support!

October 18, 2018

On behalf of TeamREC, we would like to offer a final thank you for the generosity and support you have shown for our student employees!

By The Numbers:

  • $2,137 - Total raised for the TeamREC Scholarship
  • 213% - Percentage of our goal raised (The original goal was $500. As always, past and present members of TeamREC exceeded expectations. We raised $500 within 13 days of our launch and the goal was raised to $1,000.)
  • 3 - Scholarships to be awarded this spring (We will use the remaining contributions to begin funding the 2020 TeamREC Scholarships.)
  • 49 - Individual Donors
  • 18 - Donors who are current members of TeamREC
  • 24 - Donations of $25 or more
  • 5 - Tarping Shifts for Ryan Hagen (At the time of this message he has completed 2/5 shifts. Don’t worry there are plenty of shifts still available for him to pick up!)
  • 1 - $500 Donation which fund a full TeamREC Scholarship to be awarded this spring (Ryan Hagen made a promise on Instagram to officiate a basketball game this spring if we received a $500 Donation. As we cannot subject our participants to his horrible officiating, he will officiate a TeamREC basketball game during this year’s Battle of the Beckerman. Video will be available of this momentous occasion.)

Thank You,

TeamREC & ChargerREC Professional Staff

Goal Exceeded and Extended!

October 03, 2018

Thank you again for your support of our student employees. As always, past/current members of TeamREC have gone above and beyond our expectations to help us surpass our original goal. That being said we have extended our campaign and raised our goal to $1,000!

Thus far, we have received three individual donations at the $100 "Tarping the Courts" Level. As promised, I will personally take a tarping shift for each donation at this level.

Below are pictures from my first shift, untarping the courts after our Homecoming Concert. If you want to see me take more tarping shifts, encourage your fellow TeamREC Alumni and friends to donate!

As a reminder Homecoming Weekend is quickly approaching. There is still time to register for university wide events and the TeamREC Networking Breakfast on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9:30 a.m. Click Here to Register for Homecoming Events.

Student Employees

Over the past 10 years, 600+ students have been employed by ChargerREC.

Hours of Operation

During the academic year, the Beckerman Recreation Center is open 108 hours/week. In those hours TeamREC members serve in a variety of positions which keep our facility and programs running.

Beckerman Opening

The Beckerman Recreation Center officially opened on February 11, 2008.

Key #27BM

Each day supervisors unlock doors, retrieve equipment, move tables/chairs, complete rounds, and assist members. All this is done while holding a large key ring which includes the Building Master Key, #27BM. This key ring changes hands at each shift change and is passed down year to year, supervisor to supervisor.

Shift Coverage

TeamREC members always have each other's backs. We swap, cover, and pick up shifts for each other every day. When a friend asks for help to cover a shift because they can use a few extra hours for studying we're willing to help out.

Tarping the Courts

A right of passage for TeamREC members is tarping and untarping the courts. Though it's not the most glamours job in the department, it's a shared misery we all have in common. For every donation at this level, Ryan Hagen will personally take a tarping shift this coming year.

Full TeamREC Scholarship

A $500 donation will award one full scholarship to a deserving member of TeamREC.
